I recently made a decision that felt both simple and significant—I deleted Facebook and TikTok from my phone. Not because they’re inherently bad, but because they were quietly stealing moments that belonged to me, my children, my writing, and my business.
Social media is a powerful tool. It connects us, teaches us, and gives us a platform to share our thoughts. But for me, it had become more of a distraction than a resource. Mindless scrolling was taking time away from the things I truly love and the things I want to create.
So, I’m getting back to what fulfills me. Writing. Blogging. Pouring into my passions without the constant pull of notifications and endless feeds. I may still log in from my computer to share my posts, but I refuse to put those apps back on my phone—because that makes it too easy to slip back into old habits. And let’s be real, ain’t nobody got time for that.
This is my reset. My way of being intentional with my time. If you’ve been feeling the weight of distraction, maybe it’s time to take a step back too. You’d be surprised how much clarity comes when you stop scrolling and start living.
